Theology from Poe

"And this maiden she lived with no other thought than to love and be loved by me..."

These words make up the last 2 lines of the first stanza of Edgar Allan Poe's Annabel Lee. Naturally, Poe was talking about Annabel and a romantic love between him an her but consider this: What if we approached our relationship with God this way? To live with no other thought than God's love for us and wanting to return that love to him? How would our world be changed if that were the only thing that we lived for and everything that we did, everything that our world revolved around was centered on that one thought: to love God and to rest in his love for us.
